Students from Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Primary School and the IBTE Agro-Technology Campus who participated in Progresif Cellular Sdn Bhd’s four-month Sprout IQ Farm-to-School (Sprout IQ F2S) programme were given the opportunity to sell and learn how to market their produce in the Junior Farmers Market set up by Agrome IQ at Bandarku Ceria in Bandar Seri Begawan recently.
During the event, the students, manning their booths, distributed brochures to visitors and explained to them about the Sprout IQ Farm-to-School programme as well as their experience growing their own food crops.
To mark their completion in setting up their own farms and collecting their first harvest, the students were awarded certificates by Hafiza binti Mohamad, Corporate Communications Manager at Progresif.
A certificate of appreciation was also presented to Progresif in appreciation of its sponsoring of the event and programme.
Since its launch, the Sprout IQ programme has been integrated within four schools and one higher educational institution.
A farming mobile application – which includes a guide on farming procedures – is provided by Agrome IQ as part of the programme to facilitate the students in carrying out their projects.
